Josh O'Keefe is a midfielder who linked up with the Imps in the summer of 2010 after being released by Walsall. The former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international became one of Chris Sutton's early signings of the summer and is viewed as the replacement for Matt Saunders, a Fulham loanee from the 2009/10 season.

O'Keefe is a 6ft 3 midfielder that joined the Imps after being surprisingly released by Walsall at the end of the 2009/10 season. Chris Sutton moved quickly to sign him up, bringing him to Sincil Bank just a week after his released from the Bescot.

The young midfielder's career started off well as he won the ISFA Cup at a young age and worked his way into his local side, Blackburn Rovers. He played in their youth and reserve sides for several years, but failed to make a first team appearance. He did however gain a call up to the Irish Under 21s, making his one and only appearance against Austria.

He moved to Walsall after being released by Blackburn but struggled to hold down a first team place, making just thirteen appearances for the Saddlers before being released in May 2010.

O'Keefe developed a strange opening record for the Imps as whenever he played, the Imps lost, but whenever he didn't touch the pitch the Imps were unbeaten for the first few months of the season, it is certainly an unusual fact. Unfortunately O'Keefe couldn't be as interesting on the pitch as he was largely anonymous in most games and other than scoring the occasional stunning goal, his efforts were largely unappreciated by the club.

Due to being under contract, Josh stayed with the Imps in the following season but his days were numbered when Tilson was sacked and David Holdsworth was appointed, and he played his last game for the Imps within a month of Holdsworth signing.

O'Keefe went onto sign for Hereford where he enjoyed a prolific 2012/13 season.
