Striker : Andy Hutchinson

Andy Hutchinson was one of the numerous youngsters given a chance by Peter Jackson during his spell at the club. Despite a promising start, Hutchinson never really established himself in the first team, mainly due to an extremely poor scoring record.

Along with Danny Hone, Martin Pembleton, Nathan Adams, Luca Coleman-Carr and numerous others, Andy Hutchinson was given his chance in first team football by Peter Jackson. He made his debut in a home game against Luton, but his moment of glory came two days later as he scored his first ever professional goal against Bradford.

However, since that game at Bradford he largely failed to make an impact on the first team. Chris Sutton was obviously not impressed by the youngster as Hutchinson had been a regular in the first team over the previous few weeks before a 3-0 mauling at home to Notts County, the first match after Sutton was appointed manager. That Notts County game was in September 2009 and Hutchinson's next first team appearance didn't come until May 2010.

Hutchinson kept getting offered new contracts and signed three new contracts in the space of twelve months, including a new one year deal in the summer of 2011 that wasn't deserved. At this point he had played over 20 games for the club and had still only managed just one goal. He wasn't scoring and when he did play, he was poor. He also had several poor loan spells, so why the manager's kept offering him new contracts is anyone's guess.

Finally, after numerous chances, a 35 minute appearances at Stevenage where he barely touched the ball was finally enough to convince Steve Tilson that he wasn't worth keeping.
