Iffy Onoura appointed manager of Ethiopia

Former Imps assissant manager Iffy Onoura has been appointed as the manager of Ethiopia. Onuora has not been involved in football since he and Peter Jackson left Lincoln in September of last year, but now the former Swindon and Gillingham boss will get his chance on the international stage.

Onuora came to Sincil Bank in February 2008 as Peter Jackson's assistant and he won five of his eleven games in charge after Jackson was taken ill, not a bad record at all. However, things turned sour the next season and a poor end to the 2008/9 season, combined with a poor start to the following season saw him and Jackson relieved of their duties after a Johnstone's Paint Trophy match at Darlington.

He will now take charge of Ethiopia one a £13,000 a week deal.

Is this for real? £13,000 a week! @#$%& hell fire I'm in the wrong job.
Will someone let me know if the Equitorial Guinea managers job comes up? I might have a chance.

I wonder what the betting he gets Peter Jackson as one of his coaches is?

Dread to think the quality (or not as the case may be?) of candidates if they gave it to him. So there is life after getting the boot from Sinny Bank after all?

$13,000 Ethiopian Dollars is the equivalent of about £650, or about £33,000 per annum.

I would expect the package includes expenses on top and as much dust as you can carry.

I got my story off of the Gillingham website, and that was the one that said £13,000 a week.

The Gillingham website says $13,000 a week, not £13,000.
