Shane Clarke on verge of Bank exit
By Nathan Jackson

Shane Clarke is on the verge of the Sincil Bank exit door after it emerged he went to Chris Sutton asking to leave. Clarke has been on the transfer list since the end of the season, a strange sensation given that Sutton seemed insistent on playing him last season.
Clarke came through the youth system and despite always trying his best, you'd be hard pushed to find anyone who can remember him having a good game during his time at the Imps. Chris Sutton seemed intent on playing him, even bringing him on to replace injured defenders whilst winning, that despite having defenders on the bench at the same time.
In an interview with the Echo, Sutton said "Shane came in and asked to leave the club yesterday and made his position totally clear. I said to him that it was no problem, but obviously he needs to agree a package with the club."
When Clarke is officially gone from Sincil Bank, it will leave just nine players who played under Jackson, three of which have only just got promoted from the youth team and two others have been transfer listed.
