Lincoln City's hopes of signing David Stephens on a permanent basis from Norwich have finally been scuppered, the defender agreeing a move to Hiberian. City had agreed a fee with Norwich and Stephens was seemingly happy with the deal offered before it all went silent at his end.
Stephens joined the Imps on loan towards the end of last season but it took a while for him to even get a chance in the first team. He did eventually go on to make 3 starts for the Imps, impressing in all three and Sutton offered him a permanent contract.
Norwich agreed to the fee that the Imps offered and then Sutton said that Stephens was happy with the deal, but then it all went a bit strange as Stephens suddenly starting giving Sutton excuses why he might not want to move and despite Sutton's hopes, the move never looked likely and it has now been confirmed that he will not return to Sincil Bank next season.
He has agreed a three year contract at Hiberian and to be fair, that is an excellent contract to have at just 19 years of age.
