City looking at former Kilmarnock striker

Lincoln City's hunt for a new striker took an interesting twist this morning after the Lincolnshire Echo revealed that Scott Anson has been handed a trial at the club. The former Kilmarnock and Annan Athletic man is looking to get back into professional football.
At the age of 21, Anson has already had four clubs and despite having a trial as a striker, Kilmarnock's website describes him as a defender. Anson started his career at Hamilton before moving to Kilmarnock, he subsequently had loan spells at Montrose and Annan, the latter of which made his loan permanent. Anson has scored 9 goals from his 32 games since 2008.
According to the Lincolnshire Echo, Sutton has taken the player with the squad on the pre-season warm ups.
"One of my contacts in Scotland told me about Scott and there's no harm in having a look at him," Sutton told the Echo. He's big, strong and can put himself about and I've always said that we need to have options should we pick up injuries next season. This is a big chance for him to win a contract and I hope he grasps it with both hands."
If he did join the club, he would become the third Scottish striker in less than a year that Sutton has brought to the club, the others being Steven Lennon and Brian Gilmour.

Although I suppose competing with a £50,000 a week offer from Turkey would have stretched Sutton's budget a little.

What I cannot understand is why we always have to go bargain basement, why for once can't we speculate, oh silly me I remember we are following 'Scunny's blueprint'
At this rate we are going to have a worse side than last season, taking into account the loanee's.
I see very low crowds next season...
You sound like one of those mystic megs on Skeggy beach,not rocket science after we have had 3 poor seasons in a row another poor one would shave a few more off the attendances.
Theres not a lot we can do really but moan about our lot as a bottom tiered team that we are.
If BD had come out and said we are skint, can't buy anyone and fans should accept this then maybe I would be more accepting of our so far pitiful moves in the transfer market.
It wouldn't have had anything to do with season ticket sales would it?
Course I realsie that dwindling crowds, lack of leadership, lack of transparency (above point a case example), poor players mean we are limited with cash, but if that was the case and the board knew it, then appointing a totally inexperienced manager with no knowledge of the NL circuit was tantamount to football suicide.
I understand your enthusiasm Helgy and admire it but your every bit as pessimistic as me, you just can't bring yourself to admit it.
Mark my words, we were lucky last season in that Darlo were the worst side for years and Cods went 20 odd games without a win.. This season we start with the side we have and in my opinion by November we will be adrift and Tuesdays will see 2k crowds. Now in my opinion that needs to be arrested before it happens, and that means doing what BD said he will do. How, splash on 2 forwards, get out there drumming up sponsors to help finance these forwards, me I would go for Pearson at Burton and a hungry NL player....
Think the problem is our new chairman has promised us this 'marquee' signing which hasn't happened yet so I think people are getting twitchy and thinking same old Lincoln no ambition.
You just know Crawley will end up like Boston cos you know who is there!
