Buckle still adament over Carayol deal

Mustapha Carayol's transfer to Lincoln City is causing trouble after Paul Buckle again stated he won't accept City's "sell-ons" only offer. Torquay are due a fee due to Carayol being under 24 but the Imps are claiming that Torquay had very little to do with the Gambian's development.

Carayol officially moved to Lincoln on July 1st after his Torquay contract expired, but the trouble over this transfer had started long before that. Carayol had been scouted by Sutton ever since his impressive performances against the Imps in March, Carayol subsequently accepted the offered to join City, at which point Torquay contacted the Imps about a fee.

Lincoln responded with an offer of sell-on clauses only, a deal that was instantaneously rejected by the Gulls. Paul Buckle today conceded that a deal outside of a tribunal looks highly unlikely.

"We are waiting for a date for a Transfer Tribunal," Buckle told the Western Morning News. "That's unless Lincoln turn round and actually offer us some money, more than a sell-on. They've got a first-team player from us for nothing at the moment.We'll go to a tribunal if we have to, and that's what we're planning for. We think we have a good case."

This is all set to make the early season meeting between the sides interesting, Torquay travelling to Sincil Bank on August 14th.
