Somma explains Leeds absense

Recent reignited speculation about Davide Somma has been ended after the striker explained why he hadn't been involved in pre-season training at Leeds. Many City fans hoped this was a sign he was on his way to the Imps, but now it appears the chances of getting Somma are somewhere between slim and none.
Somma enjoyed an excellent loan spell at City last season and the club are believed to have offered Leeds what would have been a club record fee for his permanent services. City fans also hoped that his absense from recent Leeds training sessions was because he was coming to City, but now reality has kicked in after it turned out to be nothing more than issues with his green card.
"My green card expired and I had to get that sorted otherwise I couldn't have gone back to the United States," he told the Leeds official website. "I've been training a little bit but I can't wait to start training with the lads."
Somma also effectively ruled out a move to Lincoln by saying "I enjoyed my time at Lincoln last season, but I can't wait to make the step up here now."
This now acts are virtual confirmation that Somma will not be joining Lincoln this summer. It is a hammer blow to City's hopes of signing a prolific goalscorer due to the shear number of players that have rejected us.
