If the IMps are still interested in Alan Connnell then they have competition from Grimsby Town for his signature. Neil Woods has admitted on Radio Humberside that the striker certainly interests him, whereas he hasn't been mentioned by any Lincoln source for about 2 weeks.
Connell, who has a habit of scoring beyond the IMps, has been linked with City and Cheltenham, but now the Mariners have joined the race to sign the striker.
"We've spoken to Alan but that's as far as it's gone. There's a lot of interest. He's a proven goalscorer and a good footballer," Woods told Radio Humberside.
City have seen virtually all the strikers they've been interested in sign elsewhere, although John O'Flynn is still yet to decide about a move to Sincil Bank.

Very injury prone and looked very poor when he played here last season.
He got 12 in a season once.
Not sure about him myself.
Our new man from Hereford had a better season than him.
You have to fancy Luton and Crawley plus the likes of York and Mansfield too.
The guy has had so many injuries in his career and it really showed the last time I saw him.
Did Sutton want him do we know?
McCallum got 8 goals in half a season he could well be the answer, who knows?
I think Sutton's waiting to see what Remy Lauret is like before making a decision on new strikers. Lauret looked half decent on Saturday and if he had enough time to learn English then I think he'd settle in really well.
