Delroy coming back?

Lincoln City's search for a goalscorer took a strange turn today when the Echo revealed that City are close to signing Delroy Facey. Facey played 10 times for City last season and only scored once.

Facey was recently released by Notts County and much like Drewe Broughton, despite having a goalscoring record pretty much throughout his footballing career, Sutton appears to be very keen on bringing him in.

In his 10 games last season, he had just 11 shots on goal, only one of which actually went in and the signing of Facey won't generally be met with excitement by the fans.

The news that Delroy is set to join has been put in today's Lincolnshire Echo, but strangely there are no quotes whatsoever to support what the Echo have said.

If Facey does join then it would me that he, Broughton, Fagan, Hutchinson and Adams have played a total of 52 times between them in a Lincoln City shirt......scoring just six times between them. We can only hope that Sutton plays McCallum.

I am a bit dissapointed that we have both Facey and Drewe, but they wont play togeather. Also looking at Faceys goal record its not as bad as i thought it was. 26 in the last 4 seasons isnt the worst for a target man.

Facey and Broughton are the sort of players who will chip in with a goal now and then. Hopefully we'll get someone else in who can score goals more regularly.
