Facey in, Hone gone

Lincoln City have secured two deals today. Delroy Facey has agreed to sign a permanent deal following on from his unsuccessful loan spell last season, whereas Danny Hone has joined Darlington until the new year.

Despite having a poor loan spell, Chris Sutton has decided to sign up Delroy Facey. The striker scored just once during his ten games on loan from Notts County last season, one of just eleven shots that the striker managed during that spell. He did score Notts County's third goal against the Imps back in April, he was released from Meadow Lane a few weeks later.

He has agreed a one year contract at Sincil Bank.

Danny Hone on the other hand continues to be left out of Sutton's side, so much to the extent where he has been loaned out to Darlington until the New Year.

Hope Hone comes back stronger, as i think he could end up being a real player for us.

A little voice in my head - yes, I know I should take my medication - is saying that I don't think we will see Hone in a Lincoln City shirt again.

I can see him doing well for Darlington, which he is bound too as he plays well in League two. Darlo will want to keep him and as his contract expires next June, I can see us accepting an offer for him in January.

I hope that I am wrong.

I think Sutton and Pearce see a future for Hone, otherwise he would have gone on the transfer list like Clarke, Fagan and LJL, or otherwise been paid-off/released.

The boy has talent, but will benefit from games. Also, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him on a programme to build up his upper body strength to better cope with the rigours of 4th Tier football.

If he does well at Darlington we would be stupid not to offer him a deal.
