Candidate Foyle was at Stevenage game

Martin Foyle, one of the names heavily linked with the managerial seat at Sincil Bank, was in Lincoln for the home game against Stevenage last week according to the York Press. Foyle has only just left York, and if he does apply for the role, it would be the second time in three years he will be in line for the role.

Foyle applied for the manager's role back in October 2007, going to the Lincolnshire Echo and declaring his interest in the role after leaving Port Vale. However, he failed to make the final shortlist of two that was between Peter Jackson and Brian Little, the role eventually going to Jackson.

After taking York to the Playoffs last season, Foyle left them earlier in September and according to an article in the York Press, he was in attendence when the Imps lost to Stevenage at the weekend, a strange fact given that he lives nowhere near Lincoln.

Whilst not even 48 hours after Sutton left Sincil Bank, the club are believed to have received nearly 50 applications.
