Former Lincoln City loanee Eric Lichaj has received an international call up for the United States. Lichaj joined City on loan from Aston Villa last October and played six times for the Imps, picking up one record card in the process.
Lichaj has been linked with a move to America this season but has moved into the fringes of the Villa team, playing in their games against Rapid Vienna and Blackburn Rovers. Much like Owen Hargreaves, Lichaj had choices of whom to represent at international level, opting for where he was born over the birthplace of both his parents, Poland.
Teammate Luke Young told Aston Villa's official website "I spoke to Eric when I found out he'd received the call-up and I just congratulated him and told him to enjoy it. He's strong, he's quick and he wants to learn. He'll definitely be pushing everyone at the back for a place."
