Nuneaton progress to face City

Lincoln City will have Nuneaton Town in the FA Cup First Round after they beat Workington 1-0 in the qualifying replay on Tuesday night. Both teams were from the Blue Square North and it was the lower placed team that progressed at the expense of the loftier opponents.

The Imps will now face Nuneaton at Sincil Bank on either November 6th or 7th in what will be the first ever meeting between the clubs. City had met Nuneaton Borough several times and even bought Simon Weaver from them, but Borough were liquidated in 2008 and Nuneaton Town. They have clinched back to back promotions since their reformation and they are again challening for promotion, sitting 6th in the Blue Square North.
