Imps will face Wycombe if they beat Hereford

Lincoln City will face Wycombe if they can win their FA Cup replay against Hereford United. The Imps and the Bulls will play each other for the third time in seventeen days on the 7th, both will know that a difficult trip to Wycombe Wanderers awaits.

Lincoln were just minutes from being in the third round already, that was until Adam Watts gave away his second penalty of the game to give Hereford the draw. It means that Lincoln and Hereford will face each other for the third time in little over two weeks, having met last weekend when City ran out confident 3-1 winners over the Bulls. A repeat victory would guarantee City the match against Wycombe.

City faced Wycombe at that end of October and secured a creditable 2-2 draw, City haven't lost on the road since and have scored twice on the road each time they have travelled under Steve Tilson. However, it's pretty safe to say that none of the fans of Lincoln, Wycombe or Hereford will be overly thrilled about the draw, but it goes to show that getting through to the third round doesn't necessarily guarantee you a tie that will get you a lot of money. However, all three sides will now fancy their chances of getting through to the fourth round.

Wycombe have a mixed home record, winning, drawing and losing on three occasions each, but they do sit above both City and Hereford, and will be favourites regardless of whom they face.

It could have been worse though as Carlisle have to travel to Torquay. City or Hereford against Wycombe will be one of just three "same division" ties and does at least guarantee a League Two side will be in the fourth round. Elsewhere the tie of the round has to be Manchester United vs Liverpool, whereas Leicester got a home draw to Manchester City and there is a great chance for revenge for Stevenage after they drew Newcastle United, following on from their controversial meetings in the 1990s.

If we beat Hereford we will receive a further £27,000 to the £18,000 already earned with the first round win.

If we then beat Wycombe, it'll be another £67,500 - an amount not to be sniffed at! (£102,500 so far...)

A win in the fourth round is worth another £90,000 followed by a further £180,000 with a win in the fifth round.

It gets silly after that!

Chesterfield reached the semi-final not so very long ago, and they were cheated! Why not little Lincoln?

I don't think we should be counting our chickens, we could easily lose the replay.

I've been reading the forums of Hereford and Wycombe and very different reactions from all sets of fans. A lot of Hereford fans are taking it as if theyve already reached the next round, very few of their fans have mentioned the replay.....and some Wycombe fans are already talking about who they want in round 4.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky

Nathan, that's a good thing, surely. We will then creep up on the rails!
