Pitman confident of beating City in replay

Jamie Pitman feels it will be third time lucky for his Hereford side when the sides do eventually meet in the FA Cup Second Round Replay. Speaking to the Hereford Times, Pitman appears to already have eyes on round four, that despite having to get past a City side that they haven't beaten in the last three meetings.

The clubs went to replay after a 2-2 draw in the Second Round 11 days ago. It was a game that neither side bossed but Lincoln were heading to the third round before a late penalty for the hosts drew them level. That had come seven days after City had easily beaten their Herefordshire rivals in the Manish Bashin derby.

Despite rarely testing Anyon in the City goal in the original second round match. "We have seen them; they have seen us at our poorest." He told the Hereford times. "That Saturday, I felt we played reasonably and should have been comfortable winners. We know, though, that the replay will be tough - their wingers can be dangerous and they will have Delroy Facey coming back in. We just need to make sure that we keep improving and we will improve because competition for places should mean that no-one can feel they are safe in the side."

Hereford are set to welcome several players back from injury before the replay does eventually get played, with Janos Kovacs one of those missing in action. However, the Imps are also set to welcome back a few players, including Facey from international duty and Paul Green from long term injury.

Both sides are due to play this weekend. Lincoln are set to entertain Oxford, subject to pitch conditions, whereas Hereford have a very tricky trip to Bradford City.
