Take 4 : Lincoln vs Hereford down for the 8th

After being postponed for a third time, the Lincoln City vs Hereford United FA Cup clash has been reschuedled again, and as expected, it will take place on the day that the FA Cup Third Round is due to be played. The winners, assuming the game goes ahead, are guaranteed to be in the Fourth Round draw.

The Imps and the Bulls have attempted on three occasions to play their second round replay, but given that Lincoln's temperature gauge hasn't been above 0 degrees for several weeks, the Imps were always in for a hard battle to get the game on. Lincoln will attempt to get the game on for a fourth time on January 8th, replacing the trip to Macclesfield that the Imps were due to have instead.

It now means that Wycombe will have to wait to find out their opponents for the third round, but it does guarantee that the Chairboy and one of Lincoln or Hereford will be in the fourth round draw. If the replay does go ahead on the 8th then the winners will face Wycombe on the 11th.

Lincoln and Wycombe could potentially end up facing each other three times in little over a week. With the teams already due to meet at Sincil Bank on the 15th, the Imps would travel there four days earlier in the FA Cup if the replay was won....and a replay against Wycombe would probably take place on the 18th.

Meanwhile, Lincoln's trip to Cheltenham will now be played on January 25th.
