Ex-Imp re-resigns for relegation rivals

Stockport County have signed Anthony Elding for a second time, one of four signings made at Edgeley Park. Despite not having a permanent manager, caretaker Peter Ward has bought in some impressive talent as he aims to increase the small gap over the relegation zone.

Elding played for the Imps at both youth level and in the 2008/9 season, signing on loan from Crewe. He made 15 appearances and scored three times for the Imps, more than current Imps Delroy Facey and Drewe Broughton have managed in fifty games between them.

Stockport are currently four points above the drop zone and sacked Paul Simpson earlier this week in a bid to avoid a second successive relegation. They have also signed Ishmel Demontagnac and Stephen Husband from Blackpool, as well as Matthew Grieve from Newcastle.

All four are expected to play against the Imps when City travel to Stockport in two weeks.
