Ex-Imps striker Ben Wright has ended several months in the football wilderness by signing for New Zealand's Richmond Athletic. It is the second time that Wright has left the English game and he hopes to have a similar success to that that he had in Scandinavia.
Wright joined the Imps in 2007 and after initially failing to find his way into the City first team, he went on top score 17 goals in 67 games for the Imps. He had previously played for Kettering, Bristol City and Woking before heading out to play for Viking and IK Start, for whom he scored 29 goals in 68 appearances. After leaving the Imps he signed for Macclesfield Town but failed to make an impact.
He has now agreed to sign for Richmond Athletic in New Zealand. They the Nelson Pine Division 1 last season.
