Rotherham leave it late to do City a favour

Rotherham United scored a 90th minute equaliser to give City a massive favour. They were losing 3-2 at Stockport County, but Ryan Taylor's last minute equaliser means that Stockport are now "only" five points ahead of City, but the Imps have five games in hand.

Whilst Hereford United were progressing through to the fourth round of the FA Cup, Edgeley Park was producing an excellent match. On loan Demontagnac opened the scoring before ex-Imp and ex-Hatter Kevin Ellison equalised for the Millers. Ex-Imp Anthony Elding missed a penalty but Stockport appeared to be heading for victory through two goals from Husbands. A late own goal from Grieve appeared to be mere consolation but the 90th minute equaliser from Taylor did City a massive favour.

Although it moves Stockport a a further point away from the Imps, it now means that the Imps have five games in hand. City travel to Stockport next Saturday and could only be two points behind at that point, meaning that by the time the Imps actually start all their games in hand (starting against Cheltenham on January 25th), they could be ahead of Stockport in the table with five games in hand.

The three goals conceded tonight mean that Stockport have now conceded 54 goals in their 25 League games, the worst in League Two by some distance.
