GTF dedicates goal against Liverpool to Butcher

Lincoln City's former striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher dedicated his goal against Liverpool to Richard Butcher. GTF scored an equaliser for Blackpool in a game they went on to win and took the opportunity to give a parting message to Butcher, whom he played with in the 2003/4 and 2004/5 seasons.

Gary Taylor-Fletcher joined Blackpool from Huddersfield back in 2007, two years after he had left Lincoln. After Lincoln had rescused Gary Fletcher (as he was known then) from Leyton Orient's reserves, he and Richard Butcher played together for two years before both left at the end of the 2004/5 season. They played against each other once or twice afterwards before Butcher's death on Monday.

Sergio Torres dedicated his last minute winner for Crawley against Derby in the FA Cup on Monday evening before Taylor-Fletcher, a Liverpool fan, scored against his boyhood team to equalise from Fernando Torres' opener on Wednesday evening. Taylor-Fletcher ran towards the camera with a t-shirt saying "4 Butch U Blue Nose R.I.P". It was a reference to Butcher's support of Everton. Blackpool went on to win the match 2-1 through Campbell.
