The last player from Keith's era leaves as Kerr joins York

Lincoln City's longest serving player Scott Kerr has left the Imps to sign for York City. Scott would have more than likely made his 250th appearance for the Imps tomorrow night, but leaves the club on one appearance shy of the milestone.

Scott Kerr was the only man left from Keith Alexander's days at the club. Every other person to be signed by Alexander during his second and highly successful spell at Sincil Bank had left Sincil Bank, and Kerr was the only one left having joined the summer of 2005.

This deal brings to an end one of the most unusual Lincoln careers. In the past Lincoln have never had a player who was captain, only to then not only lose it, but lose their place in the squad altogether before winning their place back. To have been nothing more than a squad player at time, his level of appearances and effort remaining impressive.

He was due to make his 250th appearance for the Imps at Bradford City, one of his former sides, on Tuesday evening, but he leaves just one game shy of the landmark.

Paul Green is now the longest serving player at the club.
