Kerr speaks for first time since leaving City

Former midfielder Scott Kerr has said it was the right time to leave the club. Living in Leeds, Kerr said he grew tired of spending nearly 3 hours on the road every single day and how he and Tilson didn't exactly see eye to eye.

"I was fed up with travelling and maybe didn't see eye to eye with the gaffer on a few little things so the time was right," Kerr told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. "Tilson told me 'You're in the team and playing well, but if you want to talk to York and if they can offer you a good deal for a couple of years then I won't stand in your way'."

Kerr was one game away from making the 250 game mark before moving to York City on Monday. It was a move that had game out of nowhere, so much to the point where he wasn't a Lincoln player after less than 24 hours of me writing an article praising him reaching that milestone appearance.

"It would have been nice to have reached 250 appearances but I had to make a decision. That would have been a great honour, but 249 games is still a massive achievement and one I couldn't have imagined when I joined six seasons ago."

Scott was a regular under Keith Alexander, John Schofield and Peter Jackson, but found himself out of the squad under Sutton and then Tilson, both times recovering and re-establishing himself in the first team. He was captain for around half of his six years at Sincil Bank.
