Tilson frustrated by City's poor start to game

Steve Tilson was understandably delighted to secure a point in a game where his Lincoln side were 2-0 down with 25 minutes to go. It was a poor performance from the Imps but goals from O'Keefe and Grimes grabbed the point, City's first ever point away point at Aldershot Town.

City looked down and out in the game against Aldershot, 2-0 down thanks to a penalty from Charles and ex-Lincoln United man Alex Rodman left it looking like City had made the long trip for nothing. A Josh O'Keefe headed looked like mere consolation before Grimes scored a late equaliser to give City an unlikely point. Despite getting the point, Tilson was left heavily frustrated by Aldershot taking the comfortable lead.

"I was pleased with getting back into the game and getting a point but I'm disappointed that we didn't really start until about an hour into the game," Tilson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. "Once we got our first goal there was only one team looking to win it. The good thing was the spirit we showed. At 2-0 down we could have folded but as the game went on we seemed to get better and we seemed to work harder. I think before the game we'd have taken a point and we got that point."

The Imps now head into a difficult game against table topping Chesterfield, although City will hope to repeat the result of either of the last two years, with City winning the last two meetings at Sincil Bank 3-1 and 2-1 respectively.
