Sunderland's Carson would welcome longer stay

Sunderland goalkeeper Trevor Carson has stated he would welcome a long term move to Sincil Bank after recently agreeing to extend his loan at City. Carson admits that at the age of 22, he doesn't want to just be sat on the bench for years to come.
Carson has been arguably Tilson's best acquisiton for this football club, joining on loan in the middle of January and the Imps results have picked up since then, winning 6 of the 9 games in which Carson has played. He initially joined after increasing criticism of Joe Anyon following mistakes that cost the Imps a lot of points, although the official reason given was that Anyon had been ill.
Speaking to BBC Radio Lincolnshire after the Chesterfield game, he stated "I'm so happy here because getting into a Premier League side for a young keeper is hard. I would more than welcome an opportunity to come back next season, they're putting a great squad together and I'd love to be part of it."
This is the second time that Sunderland have sent the young goalkeeper out on loan, with his previous spell coming with Chesterfield in the 2008/9 season. Carson is currently not in the first team picture at all, with Craig Gordon and Simon Mignolet ahead of him in the running, even to the point where Carson doesn't even have a player profile on Sunderland's website. Carson admitted that the time is coming where he might have to leave Sunderland to progress his career.
"You can't beat playing games and I've got a taste for it again. I got a taste of it on loan at Chesterfield a couple of years ago but then didn't play a game for two years and that's not going to happen again. I need to be playing games and, as silly as it sounds, I need to make mistakes in games and learn from them. I'm the type of player who's not happy sitting on the bench. I want to be playing on a Saturday and I've got to be realistic. Whether it's League Two, League One, the Championship or the Premier League I'm happy to play football on a Saturday, I don't just want to be on the bench."

from his after match interview on sat he seems a genuine lad - notice how he also said that anyon's been top draw with him - mmmmm, doesn't sound like the attitude some on here make out that anyon's got
"I @#$%& hate it here, the town is a @#$%& hole, the fans are @#$%& and the system they play @#$%& stinks. Get me out of here"
It's almost always the same story:
"I'm really enjoying my football, I'd like to stay longer and carry on helping this club and we'll see what happens in the future"
I hope Carson does stay, that would be great. But I always take these comments with a pinch of salt.
