Imps put on free travel to season-saving game at Oxford

Lincoln City fans will be able to travel to Oxford United for free after a support supplemented all coach travel for Lincoln fans. In the penultimate game of the season, the Imps are in desperate need of points to avoid the drop to the Blue Square Premier, a division that Oxford climbed out of last season.

Monday's defeat to Cheltenham Town has meant that the Imps are now just two points above the drop zone, with only Northampton between them and 23rd placed Barnet. With two games to go and no wins in nine, City fans have every right to be nervous, especially after several toothless displays.

In a bid to get the fans to Oxford to encourage the team, supporter Russell Clarke has paid for free travel for the Lincoln fans to get to the game, a fixture would could easily turn out to be the last away game Lincoln make in League Two for some time.

City can't be relegated this Saturday, but a defeat combined with wins for Northampton and Barnet would leave City with a must-win situation against Aldershot on the final day.

Thanks for the mention Nathan and I hope as many people as possible make the journey to Oxford. I feel I should point out that the coaches are being provided equally by myself, Bob Dorrian and Chris Travers, as the article doesn't mention Bob or Chris.

Ahh, fair enough Russ. Thank you anyway, it's very much appreciated being able to get to the game for free......let's hope the players repay your charity.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky
