Imps heading to Wales twice after Luton beat Wrexham

Lincoln City will definitely make two trips to Wales next season after Luton beat Wrexham in the Playoff Semi Finals. It means that the Imps will face Wrexham for the first time in 2007/8 and it will be combined with a trip to Newport County.

No side has returned from the Blue Square Premier at the first attempt since 2005 but Torquay did return in their second season, it's a "best effort" that Luton are one game away from equaling that after comfortably beating Wrexham over two legs. They won the second leg 2-1, making it 5-1 on aggregate to make the Playoff Final.

Ex-Imp Gary Brabin is currently in charge at Luton and will hope it will be third time lucky against either AFC Wimbledon or Fleetwood. Brabin has made two Playoff Finals in the last three years, losing both of them, once in charge of Southport and the other for Cambridge against Torquay in 2009.

It now means that the Imps will definitely make two trips to Wales next season, heading to Wrexham and Newport County. The Imps have an excellent home record against Welsh sides since the turn of the century, only losing once at Sincil Bank in a combined nine home matches against Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham in that time.....although our record in Wales is considerably different, especially with the two Playoff Final defeats at the Millennium Stadium.
