Lincoln are left with Luton after AFC win the Playoffs

Lincoln City will be playing Luton Town next season after they lost on penalties to AFC Wimbledon. After 120 minutes of a game with very few clear cut chances, the game went to spot kicks and Seb Brown was the hero for Wimbledon as he saved two of Luton's penalties, with the "Crazy Gang" winning 4-3.

Under 18,195 travelled up to the City of Manchester Stadium, the lowest attended Playoff Final at that level since 2005/6 when just 15,499 turned up for Hereford vs Halifax. They witnessed a game full of mistakes from both sides and other than a disallowed goal and both sides hitting the post, neither side ever looked like scoring and penalties seemed inevitable.

Luton made a bad start to the penalties by missing their first, they scored their next two before AFC missed their third spot kick. However, with Luton fans still celebrating that they were back in the final, their next penalty was saved and with all remaining penalties scored, AFC Wimbledon won promotion to League Two, replacing Lincoln.
