Ex-Imps goalkeeper joins Torquay

Former Lincoln City goalkeeper Robert Olejnik has joined Torquay from Falkirk. The goalkeeper had a loan spell at Sincil Bank in the 2006/7 and had his fifteen minutes of fame by scoring a winning penalty for the Imps.

Olejnik, still only 24, joined the Imps on loan from Aston Villa in the 2006/7 and despite not playing a single minute for the first team, he gained a mini spell of fame when he scored the winning penalty against Hartlepool to win the Pontins Reserve League Cup for the Imps. He also saved two penalties in the shoot out.

He went to Falkirk and made 102 appearances over four years for the Scottish club, but he has now joined Torquay.

"I have never heard any negatives about Robert Olejnik," Torquay manager Martin Ling told the BBC. "He is an under-21 international and comes here with a massive pedigree. He's played some big games against Rangers and Celtic, and if you go to either of those grounds with Falkirk then you know how to keep goal.
