Former Lincoln striker Lawrie Dudfield has entered management after agreeing to take over at Quorn FC. Dudfield spent time at Sincil Bank on loan from Leicester and was a thorn in the side of Lincoln over the years, finding the net against City on a semi-regular basis.

Dudfield has joined a large number of former Imps that have gone into management down the years. In the table on the right you can see a small selection of some former Imps that have tried to make steps in management. Some were successful and have gone on to manage England, others have had a poor management career.

The former Imp spent time on loan at City in 2000/1 from Leicester, just two of the eleven clubs he played for. He failed to score a league goal during his time at Sincil Bank and would later play for Chesterfield, Hull, Northampton (twice), Southend (twice), Boston (three times), Notts County, Cork, Chelmsford and Corby.

He has taken over as the manager of Quorn FC, members of the Evostik League South Division, the same division as Lincoln United.

His first ever game in management will be a home game against Newcastle Town on Saturday.

Lovely place Quorn, 5 mins from me and going for a few drinkies there tonight! (Sm63)

Feck Dudfield, didn't he score a last minute winner for the @#$%& against us a few years back? Might pop down when Lincoln Utd play there next year, especially if young Josh Raby regains fitness?
