Anyone up for VCD Athletic? Imps close to FA Cup draw

Lincoln City close to find out who they will be facing in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round after today's 3rd Round draw. There is potential for a few Lincolnshire derbies, and a whole host of teams who most at Sincil Bank will never have heard of.

The potential for a Lincolnshire derby is still alive with Grantham, Gainsborough Trinity and Boston United still involved, although the latter two both have to get past second qualifying round replays against Flyde and Kidsgrove respectively. There are a few other local derbies available to the Imps if the sides win their third round games, with Kings Lynn and Corby both being within a short distance of Sincil Bank.

Elsewhere are some other names which will be familiar to Imps fans. Simon Weaver's Harrogate Town will play Gainsborough if both win their replays, whereas Nuneaton will be keen to draw the Imps for a bit of revenge if they beat Daventry. City fans will also be familiar with Staines, Bishop Stortford and there are a few opportunities for reunions, with one such example being Scott Spencer in free-scoring form at Hyde, whom host Bradford Park Avenue.

There are also the traditional unusually named sides with Beaconsfield SYCOB and Kent based VCD Athletic being particularly noticeable.

The 3rd Qualifying Round takes place on October 15th, with the draw for the 4th Qualifying Round being two days later. It is at that stage that the Imps will enter and could draw anyone, including other Blue Square Premier sides.

Southend Manor would be interesting. On a personal note i would like Weston-Super-Mare. I got married in a village close to Weston.

Is it regional until the first round proper?

Here we go again!
Will we ever get the right man?

I think the following fixtures answer that question David

Boston United (East Lincolnshire) or Kidsgrove Athletic (Staffordshire) v Long Buckby
Solihull Moors (West Midlands) v Grantham Town (east Lincolnshire)

.... so no. We could draw any BSP side or any of those left in from the previous qualifying rounds.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky

It looks like North and South, rather than regional, until the BSP kicks in.

Hinckley away so I can go as I am on nights so it would be ideal.

I don't suppose Wellington Phoenix or Christchurch United are in the draw. It would be my only chance of seeing the Imps for the first time since they played Southampton in a League Cup tie at the Bank in 1988!
