Imps head back to Alfreton in FA Cup

Lincoln City will make a quick return to Alfreton Town after drawing the Derbyshire side in the FA Cup 4th Round Qualifying. The Imps beat Alfreton 3-1 at the Impact Arena last Tuesday night and the City fans will certainly fancy their chances against Alfreton.

Lincoln City's FA Cup trail usually ends at the 1st Round Proper, but relegation to the Blue Square Premier means that the Imps now have to qualify for the competition. To that we will have to win at Alfreton for the second time in less than three weeks.

Two goals from Sam Smith and a goal from Gavin McCallum gave City a 3-1 lead after less than 25 minutes of the League game, and although City failed to increase their lead, Imps fans will certainly be optimistic of beating Alfreton again.

Elsewhere in the draw, Wrexham and York face each other in one of several all Blue Square Premier ties, whilst Gainsborough's hopes of a local derby were dashed as they were drawn away to AFC Telford.
