Imps and Alfreton are number 58

Lincoln City and Alfreton will be ball number 58 in Sunday's FA Cup draw. The sides replay on Tuesday evening to decide who will compete in the First Round. Fans reactions have generally been mixed as to who we would want to draw.

Lincoln City will go into Tuesday night's replay with Alfreton knowing their potential opponents should they emerge victorious.

There are some potentially interesting draws available to the Imps. Local derbies against Chesterfield, Rotherham, both Sheffield clubs, Notts County and Grimsby are all possible, but then again long haul trips to Plymouth, Exeter and Torquay are also possible.

Some of the more potentially interesting draws could pit twin vs twin if we draw Aldershot, whom have David Holdsworth's brother Dean as manager, a change for a bit of payback to Barnet after they avoided relegation yet again at City's expence, and there's also the Manesh Bashin derby against Hereford.

For the first time since 1987 the Imps go into an FA Cup draw knowing that there is more chance of drawing a League side than a non-league one, and the fans are divided as to what sort of opponent we would want.

There are potentially massive paydays for City with both Sheffield clubs, although drawing them would almost certainly be the end of the FA Cup journey there and then, whereas a draw against a minnow would see City have a good chance of progressing but low gate receipts.
