Defiant Dorrian says administration simply won't happen

Following strong rumours that Lincoln City will enter administration due to falling attendances and lack of other income, Bob Dorrian used his programme notes before the game against Barrow to categorically deny that would be happening.

Lincoln were relegated at the end of last season and cut backs have been made to the point where there are consistent messages from the club that there is no more money. It was recently announced that all staff had been offered voluntary redundency and this has left to a lot of speculation that the club are about to enter administration for the second time in ten years.

The previous occasion came at the end of the 2001/2 season. There were many high profile casulties including manager Alan Buckley, and several of the club's better players, including legend Grant Brown and the previous season's Player of the Year Justin Walker. What followed under Keith Alexander, Buckley's assistant, was beyond everyone's imagination as the Imps unbelievably made the Playoffs with a squad full of players from the lower reaches of non-league.

In the programme notes for the game against Barrow, Bob Dorrian stated that administration will not be happening.

"There has been careless and uninformed talk from certain quarters of the club going into administration. I would like to assure everyone that this was never the case, nor will it be," he stated halfway through his notes. "Whilst this season so far has been very challenging financially, myself and the board have been and are working very hard to achieve financial security for the club and are confident that this will happen."

On the pitch things certainly took a turn for the better after a 2-1 win over Barrow lifted City out of the relegation zone.
