Carlisle 0 - Coventry 2

Missed this match too, due to still being where six fingers per hand and webbed feet are the norm (No not Leicester), but did see the scores flashing up on Sky Sports as I watched Bristol Rovers out-play West Ham, only to end up losing. Another win! Our quest for silverware is still on .... oh.

There was a temptation to point out to the dozens of West Ham fans I had the pleasure(?) of spending the evening with that they might think Craig Bellamy is a God at the moment, but I can guarantee they will hate him as much as the rest of the footballing world does within two years.

As for the team I am bothered about, it took 'til the weekend for me to see a quality strike from Michael Mifsud open the scoring for Coventry, then settle the match with a headed goal thanks to a quality cross from Ellery Cairo. It should have only been a day, but the idiots at ITV decided that Carlisle-Coventry would be one of very few - if not the only match - not to be shown on the highlights programme on the Wednesday. 

Team news for this match was that Coventry made a mere four changes to the side that beat Cardiff, including a run-out for Robert Page, who replaced Marcus Hall in the centre of defence .... only for Hall to replace the injured Page after 20 minutes! Robbie Simpson was also given a 20 minute run-out at the end of the match, replacing Adebola, while Ben Turner replaced Ward with 10 minutes left.

Coventry's reward for a fine away win was another away tie - this time at Old Trafford against Manchester United! The tie seems to have pleased many Coventry City supporters, but I would rather have played lesser opposition at home before taking on the 'big boys'! Worth pointing out that in our Cup winning season, our first match was at home, with the rest of the fixtures being played away. History repeating?
