No new striker yet. No new wingers yet. Our new defender probably won't get clearance to play this weekend. And the chance to get rid of Mifsud is scuppered .... by Mifsud.
Like the un-named Premiership midfield player the club didn't sign in the summer, it now seems likely that the un-named Premiership striker Coventry City were recently linked with also won't be joining. Neither, it seems, will Icelandic winger Johan Berg Gudmundsson, who is now training with AZ Alkmaar, with a view to signing for them. Potential Indian trialist Sunil Chhetri is also only rated as 50-50 to come to the club for a trial.
Defender Guido Lanzaat is likely to join the club, but, as seems to happen to Coventry City far to often (At least twice now!), the club are struggling to get international clearance. Should said clearance have been obtained, Lanzaat would probably have been selected for the Torquay fixture. Turner and Gunnarsson at the back it is then....
As for 'goings', a fee had been agreed with an un-named club for goal-shy fop Michael Mifsud, but once again the player could not agree personal terms. Rumours of a fee of around £200,000 were laughed at by manager Chris Coleman, who stated 'that would not be enough to buy one leg'. Given his goal-scoring and assists record over the last 12 months, I would say said fee was more than enough.
Jay Tabb claims the club missed out on the chance to sign him last summer, and had a veiled dig at Ray Ranson, claiming: 'if it had been entirely up to Chris Coleman I would have got a new contract in the pre-season'. Ranson hit back by stating: 'his agent was rude and disrespectful during those initial negotiations, but I was happy to speak with anyone else he recommended in order to resolve matters.' With a new contract supposedly on offer, Tabb then decided he was home-sick (With his family being on the other side of the world, in London). The fee receieved for Tabb looks set to be invested in two new wingers for the club - unsurprisingly, the two targets are 'un-named'. Given our recent record for attempted signings, and failing, we might as well claim it's Ronaldo and Wright-Phillips....

is having a 1 week trial at coventry any news on how his trial is going....it would be great for indian football if someone like him plays in the championship and u guys can expect a lot of support from indians if the deal does go through
then again there is a gulf in class between the two leagues
he even helped us qualify for the asian cup after a long time
i really hope he signs i think he will do a fine job for convenrty
