Not that the opposition were particularly testing .... how did Shamrock Rovers land a fixture versus Real Madrid?! I reckon the Ricoh might have even been near to capacity for that one.

Edited Highlights: Marcus Hall started this fixture playing at left-back, where he will more than likely start the season in the absence of the suspended - or possibly soon to be sold - Dan Fox, who played on the left of midfield. Marc Williams opened the scoring for the home side on 23 minutes, thanks in part to another howler from Konstantopolpous, with Grandison equalising for the visitors on 64 minutes. Curtis Wynter left the field with hamstring knack.

Edited Highlights: Presuming there isn't a flood of signings in the next few weeks, at least half-a-dozen probable starters versus Ipswich made hard-work of beating a side 57 divisions below them (Which included four former Coventry City players, which would have made a great advert for dis-banding the Youth Team years ago). Morrison's goal on 33 minutes was just enough to seal a victory, though this was a display that hardly inspired confidence. But it's not about results at this stage of the season, it's about fitness, isn't it?

Edited Highlights: Against a team containing a number of former Coventry City youngsters, including Stuart Giddings and Andy Gooding (Nice to see our youth set-up is doing somebody some good), goals from Leon Best and the recently prosecuted Freddie Eastwood earned Chris Coleman's men another victory, with another less than inspiring display. Kieron Westwood was withdrawn shortly before kick-off, and he looks like starting the new season as he started the last one: injured!

Also…. Following the sale of Scott Dann, the Coventry City captaincy has been given to a player that managed only seventeen Championship starts last season: Stephen Wright. Having been awarded said honour, Wright has stressed he would prefer to play in the centre of defence rather than at right-back. Isaac Osbourne it is then. Again. And according to CoventryMad, Nottingham Forest - who seem to have recently found a money tree - are still sniffing round Dan Fox, and are also interested in Elliott Ward. Two words, three 'f's'....
