Wood Works

New signing - and saviour of Coventry City - Richard Wood, has revealed he was gutted to leave Sheffield Wednesday, but stated that when contract negotiations broke down the club wanted to get rid of him, so he had no choice other than to leave.
Despite some supporters not being so sure about Chris Coleman remaining in charge of the team at the moment, Wood revealed that it was the chance to work with the under pressure manager that persuaded him to join Coventry City rather than any other interested clubs.
Wood made his debut (On loan, with a view to a permanent move in January) against Crystal Palace last weekend, and gave the defence a far more solid look, and also caused probelsm at the opposite end of the pitch too.
Wood's former team-mate Marcus Tudgay has also claimed that Coventry City must be promotion contenders if RW has opted to leave Wednesday for Chris Coleman's side (Here's hoping!).
Aged 24, Wood is one of the more senior players in the Coventry City squad(!), though has made 176 appearances (Plus 13 as a substitute) for his former club.
