Swansea .... Won

If points were awarded for nonsensical sound-bites and the ability to always disappoint, Coventry City would alread have been promoted, following the claim they were going to The Liberty Stadium 'wanting to get some points from the game'.

The dismal attempt at ending 60 years since victory away at Swansea followed hot on the heels of the recent dismal attempt at ending 55 years without a win versus Millwall, and last nights defeat was so boringly predictable, I would probably have been willing to bet my mortgage on it....

It took 19 minutes for Swansea to open the scoring, with a player who could have been lining up for Nottingham Forest alongside somebody called Marlon King (If rumours are to be believed), Darren Pratley, who was the beneficiary of some non-existant defending.

'The next Adam Johnson', Danny Ward, was replaced after just thirty minutes, while, according to the few that went, Jutkiewicz should have been replaced too, as he was clearly not fit enough to play.

Jordan Clarke, who has endured a very poor one-and-a-half-games (And was replaced at half-time), saw his replacement Martin Cranie fair no better, as he gifted Swansea the goal that made the score 2-0 on 47 minutes, and putting the game totally beyond the reach of Coventry City.

Coventry City did bother joining in at this point, but have little by the way of players that look capable of scoring, and wasted enough chances to have got something from this fixture .... but predictably didn't.

Ben Turner became Coventry City's joint top scorer for the season (Two goals), bundling the ball in from a corner after 55 minutes.

Following the defeat, Aidy Boothroyd was quoted as saying: 'part of getting out of this league is being consistent'. At the moment, consistently garbage displays will get us out of this division .... into League One.

It's only 47 years since we last beat Bristol City away in the league, so at least there's guaranteed points in the bag coming up this weekend .... I'm already losing the will to bother.

TEAM: Maybe one day....

Swansea .... Won
