Coventry-Doncaster : Hull-Coventry

One slightly undeserved win, one hard fought draw....

A fairly undeserved victory, against a Doncaster side who play football in the style most Coventry City fans would like to see Coventry City play. Gunnarsson's third goal of the season saw the home side take the lead within two minutes, before Sharp pulled back the all to predictable equaliser minutes before half-time. A Houchen-esque header from McSheffrey late on helped steal the points, with the striker-turned-winger earning a fine for swearing at manager Aidy Boothroyd during the goal celebrations!

Marlon King, selected ahead of Jutkiewicz to start, lasted just over an hour before picking up an injury that looks like keeping him out for a good few weeks. Nice. This match also saw the lowest ever crowd, 12,292, for a league fixture at the Ricoh. Nice. The next Adam Johnston, Danny Ward, was also selected to start this fixture, and looked fairly decent, but did little to suggest Fabio Capello will be coming to watch Coventry City anytime soon, and was replaced after an hour. Nice.

Kieron Westwood made a couple of decent saves, and, according to reports, at the end of the match gave his shirt to the supporters he had argued with after the Leicester match. Now that is nice (As was the terrible miss by Friend just before McSheffrey's winner!).

Coventry City failed to score in a league match for the first time this season, though still managed to gain a decent point away from home against a side who are yet to concede in the league on their own ground this season.

Premiership-class Jimmy Bullard was the pick of the players on view, and saw one effort hit the post after 16 minutes, while a fair few penalty claims were turned down throughout this fixture, with McShane denied one for Hull, Keogh denied one for Coventry City after a trip, and an Ayala hand-ball ignored by the referee.
