Scunthorpe-Coventry City : FA Cup Draw

Another away win, back into the top six - plus a home draw in the FA Cup!

The lowest Championship attendance of the season saw a mere 4,397 bother to watch this match, as Coventry City (Also known as 'bruisers', according to 'The Sun', and 'a tough side' by SU's manager!) recorded their first away win in three league attempts versus Scunthorpe. Marlon King still didn't manage to score that elusive first goal, but did get two assists to his name, first setting up McSheffrey (Via an effort parried by Murphy), and secondly finding the post, only to see the ball deflect into the net off Murphy in the Scunthorpe goal. Westwood was the first of the two keepers to make a noteable save, though was rarely troubled after a quality stop from O'Connor within the first few minutes, despite sustained Scunthorpe pressure during the second half (Till Murphy's goal properly ended the game as a contest). Following this fixture, there was a refreshingly honest appraisal of this match from Irons' boss Ian Baraclough, as they continued their terrible run of form at home, while Coventry City again moved into the play-off places.

FA CUP 3rd ROUND DRAW 

Coventry City have drawn Crystal Palace in the F.A. Cup 3rd Round, with the fixture currently to be played at The Ricoh, on Saturday January 8th. According to soccerbase, this will be only the second time the two sides have met in the competition, with Palace winning the 1907/08 fixture 2-4!
