Two defeats in two games has left Coventry City hanging onto their play-off place, with the six teams below them all able to go above them if they win their game(s) in hand. 

A one-nil home win over Middlesboro (The only goal coming from a Marlon King penalty) was followed by a creditable 0-0 draw away at Reading, while Gunnarsson's 35th minute sending off against Norwich helped contribute to another home defeat (1-2).  The 'one' saw Marlon King score his first goal from open play, and it was the sort of quality strike Coventry supporters have waited months for. Sadly, it wasn't enough....

While the debate as to whether Gunnarsson's red card was harsh or justified continues, especially as a Norwich player had fore-arm smashed a Coventry player in the face in front of the referee only seconds before (And was merely given a 'ticking off'), it was widely acknowledged that the referee was worse than useless throughout, and that Norwich are a bunch of diving, thuggish cheats.

Said defeat to Norwich was followed by a dismal display at Cardiff, where only Westwood's excellent display kept the scoreline to a reasonable 0-2. Craig Bellamy scored the second, which for some reason makes defeat harder to take for some (Obviously Cardiff played their joker, and his goal counts double).

With Westwood possibly off in the January transfer window, Coventry City have once again been linked with Scunthorpe's Joe Murphy (If this rumour surfaces once more, it will be due a testimonial). Sadly, loan signings and permanent signings seem very unlikely, and, with the current team lacking in quality, and, more importantly, any sort of goal threat, a gradual slide down the table looks on the cards....
