This was as impressive a footballing performance as has been seen from a Coventry City side at the Ricoh for many years .... and yet still we failed to win! It's amazing how improved Coventry City look when they play an entire XI players in their preferred positions.

Two or three SU players could or should have been booked within the first fifteen minutes, while Coventry City had an effort kicked off the line as early as the second minute, and won fifteen corners in a massively one-sided first half - thanks, in part, to Carl 'Dancing Feet' Baker giving the sort of display I've been telling the doubters he is capable of.

Once again Coventry City weren't helped by some garbage officiating (Including the last SU defender not being sent off for strangling Freddie Eastwood in a bid to stop him having a one-on-one chance with the keeper), though this comment is becoming so regular, I might as well only mention match officials that do their job properly.

SU did enjoy a ten minute spell of pressure when the second half begun, with Kieran Westwood making one excellent save when the sucker-punch looked on, but Coventry took control again, and were denied a blatant penalty when Jutkiewicz was fouled in the area, while McSheffrey missed a glorious chance to win all three points for the home side with a bad miss in second half injury time.

The woodwork was hit on three separate occasions by Coventry City, with McSheffrey especially unlucky to see one effort hit the bar, hit Simonsen on the back of the head, and end up going out for a corner! If 'Lady Luck' is available in the transfer window, we should make a bid, as it could be the difference between 17th place, and a Top 6 finish.

If Coventry City can play anywhere near this standard of football again next weekend, league leaders QPR might just be given a game....

TEAM: Westwood, Keogh, O'Halloran, Cranie, Wood, Baker, Gunnarsson, Doyle, McSheffrey, Jutkiewicz (Platt 85), Eastwood. SNU: Ireland, Cameron, Clingan, Bell, O'Donovan.
