QPR 2 Coventry 1 - Part 2

Part 2 of the QPR-Coventry City match report, detailing why QPR's stay in the Premiership will be a short one unless they replace most of their first XI....
Quite clearly a lot of the nonsense for said article referred to in Part 1 was written before a ball was even kicked (Mainly for comedy value and/or a reaction), and, while I couldn't care less about setting any record straight, it's possibly worth having a look at the relegation fodder that will be QPR next season - presuming they don't blow their five point lead this season....
QPR have spent big since being taken over, but, looking at their squad (Here, if you need to see it in full: http://www.soccerbase.com/teams2.sd?teamid=2093 ), I can't quite see where! For all that money, they're hardly re-writing the record books, are they? Top of the pile in an average division.
Looking through the list, in the main, QPR seem merely to have a slightly better quality collection of misfits and journeymen than most of the Championship sides, but nothing likely to scare the Premiership. It pains me to say it, but Cardiff have a far better starting XI (Albeit that a fair few of their best players are only borrowed!).
QPR's star man, Taarabt, is rightly considered a class act for QPR, but has only impressed in the Championship so far in his career. He has yet to prove himself in the top flight, where his Premiership career consists of fifteen substitute appearances for Spurs, scoring exactly no goals. He has often been accused of being greedy, and failing to pass to team-mates, though this could mainly be because he knows those around him are of limited ability?
Having recently lost their best defender, Kyle Walker, QPR's defence on Sunday consisted of: Orr, formerly of Bristol City; Connolly, formerly of Colchester; Hill, formerly of Crystal Palace (And assorted other non top-flight clubs); and Gorkss, who was signed from Blackpool, who were promoted some time soon(ish) after he left. They couldn't cope with a Coventry City side who didn't properly bother turning up (And also struggled against the same players for a lot of the fixture at the Ricoh), so how do they expect to deal with Torres, Drogba, Rooney, and DJ Campbell? I guess they've always got the services of Gary Borrowdale to call on....
Behind the back four they have Paddy Kenny (Who's definitely not as good as he used to be). The same Paddy Kenny that got a nine-month ban after failing drug test. The same Paddy Kenny that left Sheffield United after they stood by him. The same Paddy Kenny that got involved in a brawl, albeit that he found out that two people had been seeing his other half! ( http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article71478.ece ). So Marlon King isn't the only footballer making the wrong pages in the newspapers, is he? Or are some crimes OK?
Aside from Taarabt, their midfield was made up of: Routledge, Derry, and Faurlin. So far in his career, Routledge has proved he isn't quite good enough for the Premiership (With Fulham, Spurs, Aston Villa, and Newcastle all getting rid), while Derry is nothing more than a journey-man who's made a living from mainly playing outside the Premiership. Faurlin has managed sixty-one outings for QPR (Plus five as a substitute), and scored three goals. At a fee reported to be £3.5 million, they could have had Michael Doyle for far less....
Buzsaky and Agyemang are also decent enough players in the Championship, but would be completely out of their depth in the Premiership. That's quite a re-building job needed so far....
In charge is Neil Warnock, the poor mans Alex Ferguson. Reading the blurb on various websites, some seem to think he is a decent enough manager, but has never been offered a 'top job' because of his habit of 'shooting his mouth off'. One of his more famous comments being: 'I wouldn't piss on [Gary Megson] if he caught fire' - nice. He always seems quite amiable during matches, at least until match officials dare to call a decision differently from how he saw it....

Pray tell about 'All that money' QPR have spent. We are not the highest spenders in the division, nor do we have the highest wage bill in this division, nor do we hold the transfer record for this division. It's a matter of fact that we have some of the wealthiest board members at any club in the world, but that money isn't QPR's, and it hasn't been invested in to the club. We're hardly doing an Abramovich/Mansour. In fact we are still in debt, and sensibly trying to clear that debt by getting promoted with a decent side and at long last a good manager.
As for 'hardly re-writing the record books' we were one game away from equalling our all time unbeaten run - that's pretty close. If you mean that we aren't on target to top 100+ points, then surely that is an indication that this division is tighter, and therefore harder to win than when Reading/Sunderland ran away with it as opposed to being an 'average division'.
As you imply; on paper we don't have the strongest squad, yet we are top and have been top for most of the season. that is surely the sign of a good team who deserve to be there. We have beaten the 'strongest' side in the division and most of the sides around us, we have an impressive goal difference and at the time of writing a five point lead...
Your knowledge of players seems to be based in...ah, let me see now... 2008. Agyemang is average - Buzz has been in and out with injuries, equally some of the players you call 'journey-men/not good enough for the Prem/making their living outside of the top flight' are exactly that - that's why they play in the Championship, no?
No club is equipped to make the step up wothout some sort of investment. This season Blackpool have impressed and surprised everyone, but they're still not out of the woods yet - and they are the exception to the rule in terms of investment and performance in their first season back in the top flight.
Maybe you should take on board some of your clubs' sponsorship information and invest in a decent pair of Ricoh binoculars as you seem blind to many aspects of the beautiful game.

Marlon King, guilty of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman and breaking her nose with a single powerful punch.
In the five years before the nightclub assault, King was found guilty of a trio of similar attacks on women, it can now be reported. He was first convicted of common assaults on two women he chased through Soho with a belt wrapped round his fist in 2003.
Three years later, he was convicted of threatening behaviour after slapping a woman on the head and bottom and then spitting at her when police arrived to intervene.
King’s criminal record also included dishonesty, drink driving and other motoring offences. Only one of his convictions, for receiving a stolen £30,000 BMW, resulted in a prison sentence – 18 months reduced to nine on appeal.
