Coming into November and City are in the play-offs and I’m making a profit from betting on City’s opponents – fantastic! Could the Sky Blues keep it up?

Leeds Utd (H) – Lost 3-2

ODDS: Leeds win 11/5, Draw 12/5

MATCH RETURN: £21.50 up

CUMULATIVE RETURN: £42.98 up

MOOD: OK. City had been on a decent run and this fixture managed to attract a pretty good crowd – over 20,000. So as usually happens when a fair few people turn up Coventry lost. But the game itself was a decent enough spectacle, and neutrals would have been very entertained. The result was galling as the Sky Blues merited a draw, but my profit for the season did double with this one fixture, and pretty much covered the entrance cost.

Notts Forest (A) - Lost 2-1

ODDS: Forest win 5/6, Draw 14/5

MATCH RETURN: £11.25 up

CUMULATIVE RETURN: £54.23 up

MOOD: Again not too bad. Forest are a decent side and the most I was expecting was a draw, which arguably Coventry deserved. Just hoping we don’t lose the next fixture and the dip becomes a potential slide…

Crystal Palace (A) – Lost 2-0

ODDS: Palace win 8/5, Draw 12/5

MATCH RETURN: £17.00 up

CUMULATIVE RETURN: £71.23 up

MOOD: …Oh dear. Yet another loss, but this time against a team struggling for form. And what’s more the Sky Blues probably deserved to win the game overall. The money didn’t do anything to stem the disappointment from this one as this result could completely destroy the team’s confidence

Burnley (H) – Won 1-0

ODDS: Burnley win 7/4, Draw 12/5

MATCH RETURN: £10.00 down

CUMULATIVE RETURN: £61.23 up

MOOD: Happy. The Sky Blues didn’t deserve to win this fixture but managed to grind out a win and seems like karma after the Palace defeat. Losing a tenner is definitely worth stopping the rot.

Scunthorpe United (A) – Won 2-0

ODDS: Scunthorpe win 7/4, Draw 12/5

MATCH RETURN: £10.00 down

CUMULATIVE RETURN: £51.23 up

MOOD: Happy again. The dip in form seems forgotten as City run out worthy victors. It’s another £10 gone, but I’m still up overall

So another month gone, City are still hanging onto the play-offs despite an erratic month of results, and my profits doubled to £50. Still going well….
