Playing Catch-Up 1: Coventry Beat Palace

Goals from Richard Wood and Marlon King, with the almost compulsory conceded goal scored for Palace by Iversen, finally saw Coventry City win a Championship fixture.

Daley Thompson was a surprise visitor to the home dressing room before kick-off, with Lucas Jutkiewicz reportedly knackered out just looking at him.... 

On the pitch, Richard Wood had an out-standing game, giving the sort of display he was managing for Sheffield Wednesday, and the reason Coventry City signed him. 

Aside from the goals, Zaha was denied what the more visually impaired would claim was a 'certain penalty' for Palace with the score at 1-0 (Though did annoy the hell out of home supporters with some blatant diving too), while Clive Platt could have had a hat-trick had he managed to get any power in the efforts he sent goalwards. 

Four minutes of injury time was added (As per usual), but the home side held on to record a win that helped keep them a fair few points away from the bottom three. 

There were reports Palace fans set off a flare during this match, which makes a slight mockery of the fact stewards, much to a fair few peoples annoyance, were supposed to be checking supporters for such items....
