Playing Catch-Up 2: Coventry Beaten By Swansea

I guess there will be some that will see our 1-0 defeat at home to Swansea as a decent result, as the Welsh side went on to cruise past play-off chasing Leeds with ease a matter of days later. It wasn't. A decent result is when you take at least a point from a match.

Coventry were the better side, but there are no points awarded for effort, only for scoring more goals than the opposition. With that in mind, another fail. 

Whether it was through necessity, or simple desperation, there was a re-call for David Bell - and, even more unlikely, he played well! Not well enough for Coventry City to record back-to-back wins though.... 

There were shameful back-to-back dives from opposition players though, with Pratley and Beattie carrying on where Zaha left off. Once again, no card was shown, though you can bet your last pound as soon as a Coventry City player is hacked down in the penalty area, he will see yellow. 

De Vries kept out decent efforts from Wood and Bell in the first half, while De Vries managed to avoid a red card for a blatant shirt-pull on Carl Baker early in the second half too, while a hand-ball by Beattie in the Swansea penalty area also went unpunished. On such decisions games are changed.... 

Swansea made a double substitution with twenty minutes left to play, and Dobbie and Moore (Who replaced Pratley and Beattie) almost made an immediate impact when between them they managed to hit the woodwork three times in a matter of seconds. 

Dobbie scored the only goal of the game on 76 minutes (Following yet another defensive error), with Coventry's final attempt at an equaliser seeing Westwood come up for a corner, which came to nothing. 

Adding another to our 'No S*** Sherlock?' series, Alan Tate offered the following comment after the match: 'We’re not going to be promoted because we’ve won at Coventry'.
