Coventry-Hull After-Match Phone-In*

To see exactly where the club is upto regards wanting Aidy Boothroyd to stay on or sod off, I tuned in to local radio after the match - something I haven't been in the habit of doing for a fair while. Very entertaining!

Supporters of the manager, and confidence in the players, is now almost non-existant, and despite attempts by the two hosts to try and get a word in edge-ways, irate supporters refused to allow them to play 'Devil's Advocate' until they had finished their ranting. And how they ranted!

Some of the slightly more barking contributors think the answer is to 'leave the Ricoh behind and build another stadium' - Yep! It's that easy....

The words 'lacklustre', 'abject', 'disgraceful', and 'disjointed', were just some of those used to describe another shambolic display by players who don't deserve to wear the shirt. For all the excuses about 'problems off the pitch', match day is where players are supposed to get away from such nonsense, and get on with what they are paid for.

Added to that were the ramblings of Aidy Boothroyd (For the usual after-match interview), who according to the hosts, sounder flatter than at anytime during his spell as Coventry City manager. After the display versus Hull, and the recent run of results (For 'recent', read 'early December to the middle of March'), it's hardly surprising.

Amongst his words of wisdom were: 'we're happy to come in here and smile when we're on a winning run' - how good is his memory?!; 'The second half we rallied' - he missed off the words 'for five minutes'; and 'I don't think you can pick people up, I don't think you can instill self-belief' - I thought that was part of the manager's job? If it is, and he can't, it's hardly surprising we're plummeting towards League One, is it?

‎As if the regular Ricoh visitors weren't unhappy enough, we're not the only ones! I missed this gem from '5 Live', but according to somebody that tuned into said station, the commentator that suffered this match (As Hull weren't much better either) stated: 'If I'd paid money to watch this game, I'd wish I'd spent it in the casino instead". Welcome to our world squire!
