Aidy Boothroyd Has Left The Building....

The powers that be at Coventry City have finally come to their senses and fired Aidy Boothroyd - a decision which seems to have split Coventry supporters - meaning Coventry City's tenth manager in ten years has left via the door marked 'exit'.

Quite why anybody would want him to have stayed, after a dismal sequence of results, together with a dismal sequence of displays, is beyond me! But everybody is entitled to their opinion, I guess.... 

A lack of funds is the excuse being used by a fair few, though I'm guessing McSheffrey and Carsley's wages weren't exactly peanuts, King is said to be on £10,000 a week, Jutkiewicz cost a few pounds too, while one of AB's first signings, Roy O'Donovan, is obviously getting paid, but is not getting a game. 

Those that get to hear whispers behind the scenes say Boothroyd had lost the dressing room, with the players unhappy at his preferred style of play  - a view shared by a large percentage of those that have paid to suffer watching Coventry City this season. Playing hoof-ball to light-weight players with no pace is not exactly the tactics of a genius! And there never seemed to be a 'Plan B'.... 

Coach Steve Harrison, who a fair few people think should also have been 'released' from his role at the club too, and 'Chief Scout' Andy Thorn (Whose job is fairly pointless, as there doesn't seem to be any money for any targets he might identify), will be in charge for tomorrow's fixture away to Burnley.

Roberto Di Matteo currently heads the list of realistic targets linked with the job permanently, with Martin O'Neill the name suggested by those that seem to think we're challenging for a Champions League place....
