Ranson Speaks About Boothroyd Dismissal

Much criticised chairman Ray Ranson has spoken about the difficult decision to get rid of yet another Coventry City manager....

Ranson, rather obviously, was interviewed following the sacking of Aidy Boothroyd, and rightly claimed he was 'damned if he did, damned if he didn't' get rid of AB, and stated he had 'sympathy, but no alternative'. Ranson went on to say: Boothroyd had a 'certain style of play, but the players weren't responding to it' - nor were the fans, for that matter, Mr. Ranson!

Some supporters claimed that the decision to get rid of Boothroyd was a 'knee-jerk reaction' by the board, though one win in sixteen games, and the manager having lost the dressing room, is obviously acceptable to them! Bizarrely, some of the people that said Boothroyd should have stayed also said his style of football was awful. Having played the same way at Watford and Colchester, changing his style was highly unlikely, wasn't it?!
